Men’s Basketball
Feb. 18, 2016 – UNCW Loses at William & Mary 87-69
Game Notes: Seahawks end 11 game win-streak by suffering their 4th straight defeat in Williamsburg
After trailing 42-38 at halftime, the Seahawks went on a 19-2 run to take a 61-49 lead with 10:34 remaining in the second half. Sparked by senior forward Terry Tarpey, the Tribe ended the game on an impressive 38-8 run over the final 10 minutes of the game. 
Game Statistics: UNCW Leading Scorers: Chris Flemmings 18pts, Denzel Ingram 12pts, (Jordon Talley career-high 10 assists) William and Mary outscored the Seahawks 25-8 from the FT line. 

Feb. 20, 2016- UNCW Bounces Back at College of Charleston in OT 59-55
Game Notes: The Seahawks bounced back with a strong defensive effort and 8 overtime points by junior guard Denzel Ingram. UNCW led for the majority of the game, which had seven ties and five lead changes
Game Statistics: UNCW Leading Scorers: Denzel Ingram 17pts, Craig Ponder 15pts, Jordon Talley 12pts
The Seahawks were 21-27 from the free throw line
Women’s Basketball
Feb. 19, 2016- UNCW Falls at Hofstra 62-38
The Seahawks dropped their 3rd straight game and drop to (7-18) Overall and (3-11) in the CAA
Junior point guard Jasmine Steele led UNCW with 14 points. 

Feb. 21, 2016- Seahawks Lose at Northeastern 69-52
12 made three pointers by Northeastern was the key difference in the defeat. Senior guard Shatia Cole led the way offensively for the Seahawks with 18 pts, while Junior Guard Jasmine Steele had 12 points.
 
Baseball
Feb. 19, 2016- Opening Day Statement for UNCW in 15-2 Win Over W. Carolina
Seahawks Manager Mark Scalf earned his 800th career win to start his 25th season at UNCW
UNCW scored 8 runs in the 5th inning. Winning starting pitcher Ryan Foster (1-0) went 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits allowed

Feb 20, 2016- Seahawks Cruise Past St. John’s 16-1
UNCW got hot with their bats with six runs in the 3rd inning and  five runs in the 4th inning
Freshman starting pitcher Alex Royalty  was impressive in his first start against SJU allowing just one unearned run and one hit in 5 innings. Catcher Gavin Stupienski knocked in 3 runs, while Robbie Thorburn also contributed 3 hits Saturday’s contest. 

Feb 21, 2016- UNCW Complete Opening Home Sweep in 12-9 Win over Richmond
The Seahawk’s bats got rolling again early as they batted around in route to an eight run 3rd inning
Closer Jared Gesell picked up his first save of the season in fashion by striking out the side in the 9th inning. UNCW scored an impressive 43 runs on opening weekend
 
Softball
Feb 19, 2016- Seahawks Open Fayetteville Showcase with Doubleheader Wins
UNCW wins 4-0 over Lafayette: Junior Peyton Jordan had a complete shutout allowing just 5 hits
UNCW wins 7-1 vs Delaware St.: Sarah Davis allowed just just one unearned run and also smashed out of Boseman Field her 2nd home run of the young season.

Feb 20, 2016- Seahawks Continue Streak with Saturday Sweep
UNCW wins 4-0 over Lafayette: Freshman Pitcher Haley Lendermen limited Lafayette to just three hits in her first career win. UNCW wins 10-3 over Rhode Island: Junior Outfielder Claudia Spinelli tied the school record with 3 doubles while driving in 6 runs.

Feb 21, 2016- UNCW Ends Weekend Domination in 4-0 Win vs. Delaware St.
The dynamic Duo of Haley Lenderman and Peyton Jordan led the way in a one hit shutout. The Seahawks dominant pitching resulted in 3 shutouts on the weekend and put their overall record at 7-2 early in this non-conference season.
